Enlisted May 1, 1862 at Corinth, Mississippi. Wounded at Chickamauga, Ga. on September 19, 1863. Was promoted from Private to 3rd Corporal and then to 2nd Corporal. Sergeant at Arms in the Mississippi Legislature and a House Clerk for a while.
