Old District 96 in the Carolinas.
Soldier in the Revolution. In 1776 lived in or near Newberry, SC.
BIOGRAPHY: Records indicate that for sure he was living in Old District
96 in SC in 1779 along with an Evan, Henry, William and Isaac Morgan. Not
sure of any relation between these.

BIOGRAPHY: Thomas Morgan
1767 - received a Royal Land Grant on 17 Feb 1767 of 300 acres on Kings
Creek in Berkley Co. (now Newberry Co.) SC. This was surveyed on 19 Nov
1776. Records in South Carolina Archives:

BIOGRAPHY: 1774 - Deeb bk A page 122 - 96 District - Thomas and Isabella
Sold 100 acres of this land to Abel Anderson. They were referred to as
bieng in the "County of Craven".
BIOGRAPHY: 1778-1779 Thomas was on the Jury List as being in the lower
part of 96 District in Fork of Broad and Saluda River.
BIOGRAPHY: 1786 - SC State Deed Book at Archives -- Isabella was granted
100 acres in the "District of 96 North side of Saluda River on Waters of
Kings Creek". This was surveyed on 26 Sep 1784 for Thomas Morgan.
ref: plat bk A page 215 Greenville SC Courthouse.
note: This is where I base the death of Thomas Morgan between the survey
in 1784 and when Isabella is granted the land in her name in 1786.

pounds, and one peppercorn as rent due in one year - grantors were
Clement and Charity Gore of Newberry Co.
BIOGRAPHY: 1796 - Deed bk D page 161 Newberry Co., SC"
Isabella Morgan of Abbeville Co., SC sold 100 acres on Gilders Creek in
Newberry Co., to Joseph Caldwell of Newberry Co. for 20 pounds.
Note: This land was originally granted to Clement Gore in 1787 and was a
few miles N NW of Newberry Village in Newberry Co., SC.
