BIOGRAPHY: Francis KINCANNON was born ca. 1718 in (Northern) Ireland. Francis immigrated from Ireland in the early 1740's and was living near Gettysburg, Pennsyslvania, in the mid-1750's. There is evidence that he was living in Washington County, Virginia as early at 1769. He moved to (now) Old Glade Springs, Virginia, in about 1769; he and his sons owned several thousand acres in the area. He died between 3 Mar 1795 and 15 Sep 1795 in Washington County, Virginia. He was married to Elizabeth SUMMERS, born in 1727 in Washington County, Virginia. She died after her husband's will was probated on 15 Sep 1795.
